My Story

The experience, purpose, and values behind Apple Green Mindful Learning.

Why Mindful Learning Matters to Me

Throughout more than three decades of working in international education, particularly in curriculum development, I have seen schools place considerable emphasis on academic achievement. While strong academic foundations are essential, children also need opportunities to develop their imagination, creativity, emotional awareness, life skills, and healthy habits. They need experiences that strengthen different areas of thinking, including memory, problem-solving, communication, self-control, decision-making, and creative thought.

My work with parents has shown me that many families genuinely want the best for their children but may not fully understand which skills need to be nurtured, why they matter, or how to develop them through everyday experiences. This creates an important gap between what children learn at school and the guidance they receive at home.

I created Mindful Learning to help bridge that gap. Through practical books, portfolios, and educational resources, I want to support parents, schools, and educators in looking beyond grades and nurturing the whole child. My purpose is to help children become curious and imaginative thinkers, confident learners, emotionally aware individuals, and resilient young people equipped with the habits and life skills they need to thrive in an ever-changing world.

Personal Vision

I believe every child should be recognised and nurtured as a whole individual, with development extending far beyond academic achievement. While strong educational foundations are essential, qualities such as confidence, emotional intelligence, independence, creativity, responsibility, and resilience are equally important in preparing children for life.

I created Mindful Learning to provide parents, schools, and educators with purposeful, practical resources that nurture these qualities from the earliest years. My vision is to empower children to become reflective learners, independent thinkers, emotionally aware individuals, and responsible contributors to their communities and the wider world.
